Dear Friends,

This past Saturday, I hosted a Q&A call about my new book, Evolutionary Enlightenment: A New Path to Spiritual Awakening. Hundreds of people from around the world participated, including many of you, and I was both inspired and impressed by the level of dialogue that we were able to have in just over an hour together on the phone. This kind of spiritual and philosophical inquiry is essential to creating a new culture because it gives all of us the opportunity to challenge old ways of thinking and evolve new perspectives that can serve as the foundation for real and lasting transformation.

Some of you have been subscribers to my “Quote of the Week” email list for nearly a decade, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to share this inquiry with you. I hope to connect with many more of you in 2012. In fact, one of my goals for this year that also guides the work of my organization, EnlightenNext, is for as many of you as possible to participate in this ongoing inquiry.

I’m a relative newcomer to the social media revolution but over the past year I’ve gained a greater appreciation for the power of platforms like Facebook and blogs to create an evolutionarily enlightened cultural space online. You may have noticed that I have a new blog where I am now sharing thoughts on a variety of subjects. Each week I respond to questions and comments from readers on both my blog and Facebook page, and I would love to hear from you there.

One of the highlights of 2011 was the launch of Evolutionary Enlightenment, which gave me the opportunity to meet thousands of people interested in deep questions of meaning and purpose on my book tour. In 2012, I will continue to travel around the world, giving talks and leading retreats throughout the US, Europe, and India. We will send you an email tomorrow with more information about upcoming events.
